5.5 x 5 ″Framed: 8.8 x 8.3 ″Cyanotype and ThreadJaimini’s works focus on memories from our past experiences. The act of removing a single thread from a piece of fabric leaves a mark that narrates the history of what existed.
Following the artist’s intent to depict the fragility of the fabric, the artwork is made through a reverse process of unpicking where she removes single lines of thread and pulls on them to get the desired pattern. The fabric is then placed on the paper to get the cyanotype paper we see.
