In memory of Preet Mendiratta
This year we have introduced a new grant, The Inception Grant For Art Writers, In memory of Preet Mendiratta.
Preet Mendiratta (1991- 2018), was a freelance writer, musician, art aficionado and a dreamer. This initiative aims to support and recognize the talent and creativity of writers in the field of art. We’re offering two grants, each worth INR 50,000.
Criteria
- Writers from South Asia ages 25-40 years (as of November 2023). Writers from India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be considered part of the process.
- Non-fiction writing pertaining to art, art journalism, art criticism, personal blog about art and published work are within the mandate
- Applicants must be at an early stage of their career, students, or an emerging writer in the process of launching their career.
- Applicants must be individuals applying on their own behalf.
- Applications are now closed.
Submission Guidelines
Please email the documents below on writers@artincept.com with the subject line as ‘Art Writers Grant 2024’.
- Aadhar Card/ nationality proof
- Writer’s Biography and Resume: highlighting experience, education, published work, awards, and recognitions (if any)
- Minimum 3 writing samples in PDF format (published or unpublished) (1,500 words)
- Statement of purpose: elaborating on how this Grant will benefit your practice (250 words)
- Medium: English
