  • Artist’s Statement

I am a resident of the village area. I have an emotional attachment to rural culture and society. I have seen the simplicity, beauty and problems of rural lifestyle and what I have seen experienced. I present through the art work my painting is my life journey which presents the rural lifestyle. As a medium I use old Katha fabric as a canvas which I get from the nearby village house. My Katha(fabric) is old, worn out, Rough and torn. It has an aesthetic sense of rural lifestyle. This condition of Katha combines rural life. Because Katha is the witness of rural life, it is the philosophy of the ultimate truth in which the villagers live. After getting old, many of types shapes and form textures and line begins to emerge in Katha, It seems as if that want to say something verbally. In emerging figure I give the form of a painting this is my art work.
