Ayushi Ojha

Ayushi Ojha

  • Biography

Born in Bihar, Ayushi studied painting at Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Vadodara, and is currently pursuing her Masters at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University, Delhi.

Ayushi’s works are grounded in gestures and the innate primitive urge to create, express, and respond through marks. The process begins with spreading the paper on the floor and moving her body to create marks, which often have traces of her existence in the form of imprints of parts of her body. Movement is the core of her work, whether it be the movement of the body or the pace of the passage of time in relation to light which is explored through her work, which pushes her work into the realm of ephemerality. They also edge on abstraction either by her tendency to layer or by a process of selective unconscious reduction.
