Nostalgia of Time

When I experience or encounter certain architectural spaces their facades, textures, colours, and ambience they open up a different world, transporting me to another time and evoking a deep sense of nostalgia, where the present moment begins to fade.
In this work, Nostalgia of Time, the blurred images represent the feeling of transcendence, while the use of blue and the presence of clouds convey the mood of that time and a sense of contentment.
This piece explores how architectural space can become a medium for emotional and temporal transport, allowing us to access memories, feelings, and states of being beyond the immediate physical experience. As Gaston Bachelard writes, “Inhabited space transcends geometrical space” a reminder that the spaces we occupy are not just defined by their physical dimensions, but by the emotions, memories, and imagination they hold.
