Born in 1989 (Bihar), Pankaj completed his bachelors, followed by a Masters from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.
Looking past the obvious, a close observation and engagement with the subject of climate change is at the core of Pankaj’s art. The unprecedented movement of people, mushrooming cities, depleting ozone layer all inform his paintings. At a time when it is impossible to breathe the ambiguity between reality and desire, the chaos of culture, and a spiritual quest become the basis of his tranquil works. His work raises the question of a bleak future and responds to it as a satire.
Pankaj is a recipient of the Karnataka State Award and the Prafulla Dhanukar Art Foundation award, 2018.
