Megha Singh

Born in 1991 in Chittaranjan, Megha earned her BFA from the College of Visual Art, Kolkata (2016) and her MFA from Indira Kala Sangeet Vishwavidyalaya, Khairagarh (2018), specializing in Painting. Her practice examines urbanization and its impact on natural resources, using overlapping lines to reflect the relentless expansion of human civilization against the fragile beauty of water and other ecological elements.
Working with ink, gouache, charcoal, and more recently smoke from accidental fires, she maps the tension between beautified urban spaces and the chaos that underlies them. Layers of lanes, structures, and the people who inhabit these environments converge in her compositions. Through these visual explorations, she invites viewers to reflect on the consequences of human activity and the urgent need for a more sustainable coexistence between urban growth and the natural world.
