Ashima Raizada (b.1994) based in India experiments with diverse artistic mediums. Her artistic practice involves experimentation with the mediums of Photography and Collage, primarily rooted in everyday observations and concepts of philosophy. A lot of her work takes cues from movements like Abstraction and Mixed Media while also expanding on the confines of these movements. Over the years, she has worked on multiple series which take into account a singular idea of “self” and its possible representations using photography and mixed media.The spectrum of exploration is further enhanced by the idea of “play”. Ashima has been a finalist for Lucie Scholarship Program 2024, recently awarded Generator Art Production Grant 2024, exhibited at XXL Gallery’s “The Desired Scaffold”, Mumbai(2024), Dhi Art Space “Highly Grainy”, Hyderabad(2024), “Beyond The Gaze”, group show at Alliance Francaise de Dhaka, Bangladesh (2024) and participated in Experimental Photo Festival, Barcelona(2023). She was chosen by Hindustan Times as one of the Top 30 under 30 young achievers in 2018.
