My journey into analog photography began five years ago, sparked by a fascination with the tangible, unpredictable nature of film. As a self-taught artist, I've developed my practice through experimentation and a deep love for the medium, embracing both its challenges and its surprises. With each click of the shutter, I’ve learned more about light, composition, and the delicate art of patience. Portraiture lies at the heart of my work. I aim to capture not just the appearance of individuals but also the unspoken stories and shared experiences that connect us. Every portrait I take is an attempt to preserve a fleeting moment of authenticity—a connection that lingers beyond the frame. It’s about documenting a slice of time, a moment that will never come again, yet stays with us in the image. Lately, I’ve been pushing the boundaries of my analog work by integrating digital elements. By adding hand-drawn touches to my photographs, I create layered narratives that extend the story of each image. This blend of analog and digital techniques opens up new ways to explore the dialogue between reality and imagination, adding a personal touch that deepens the emotional impact of my work. Multiple exposure photography has also become a significant focus of my practice. By layering images on a single frame of film, I create dreamlike compositions that blur the lines between memory and reality. These experiments with multiple exposures allow me to explore themes of time, identity, and perception in ways that are both complex and poetic. While analog photography can be unpredictable and sometimes frustrating, I find beauty in its imperfections. Each failed experiment, overexposed frame, or accidental double exposure has been a lesson in growth. This residency represents an opportunity to refine my craft, collaborate with other artists, and dive deeper into the stories I want to tell.
