Transforming Spaces Through Art

Art has the power to transform spaces, bringing creativity, inspiration, and a distinct identity. We had the privilege of collaborating with Boston Consulting Group (BCG) to curate the art for their new Mumbai office. Beyond enhancing aesthetics, the goal was to create a space reflecting BCG’s ethos, celebrating Mumbai’s culture, and showcasing Indian artistry.

BCG’s Vision and Theme

BCG envisioned their art collection as a reflection of their values: innovation, collaboration, and sustainability. The theme, “a place to stand,” symbolized their global influence and connection to diverse ecosystems. The collection focused on three elements:

• One BCG: Celebrating their global heritage and unity.
• Mumbai: Honoring the city’s vibrancy and resilience.
• Emerging Indian Artists: Showcasing young talent exploring themes like sustainability, urbanization, and inclusion.

Curating and Commissioning Art

We selected artists whose work aligned with BCG’s vision—blending tradition with innovation and emphasizing sustainability. The commissioned pieces ranged from Madhubani murals and Gond art reinterpretations to installations crafted from recycled materials. These works were integrated into the office to create a cohesive visual experience.

Collaboration and Initiatives

We partnered with organizations like Aravani and Then and Now to support socially responsible and traditional art forms. Internally, initiatives like the photo wall, featuring images by BCG employees, fostered collaboration and pride.

Highlights of the Collection

Visitors to BCG’s office experience a curated journey of diverse themes and styles. Standout pieces include Parul Sharma’s “Interwoven,” a vibrant world map symbolizing global connectivity, and Savitha’s “Tales of Distant Dwellings,” a cyanotype mural celebrating Mumbai’s architecture. Sustainability and inclusivity are central, with recycled materials and community-driven projects prominently featured.

Private Spaces

For partner cabins, we curated neutral artworks, including abstracts and cityscapes, suitable for professional backdrops and diverse tastes.

Reflections

This collection has transformed BCG’s office into a space that inspires pride, dialogue, and connection. It embodies their values while celebrating Mumbai’s unique identity, highlighting art’s ability to foster creativity and collaboration in the workplace.
